More Clouds; Getting Cooler
Clouds are in abundance today and that takes a swipe at high temperatures when compared to Monday’s values. Some areas of light rain and drizzle will develop overnight and into Wednesday. While a stray shower will remain possible both Thursday and Friday, we should start to see a little bit more sunshine and a slow warming trend after Wednesday’s relative coolness.

Hi: 76 Lo: 55
Mostly sunny; Warmer
Sunday - Sunshine; Great weather to be outside; High in the mid 70s; Low in the mid 50s
Monday - Bright sunshine; Pleasant; High in the mid 70s; Low in the lower 50s
High pressure is nosing down the eastern slopes of the mountains and this upslope component to the low-level wind flow will present more cloudiness over the next few days. The coolest day of the week will be Wednesday, with perhaps our best coverage of light rain and drizzle coming late tonight and Wednesday morning.
As per usual in these kinds of setups, the cloudiest weather be in eastern sections, while the corridor from Waynesville to Mars Hill will see more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
An upper level trough will swing through the region by Friday afternoon. We will maintain a threat for a shower for both Thursday and Friday until this feature exits the area. Expect a little bit more sun each day during this period as temperatures begin to come back up.
By the weekend, high pressure will be with us. It will be in a position to promote abundant sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures as we ring-in the month of October.
