Quiet Holiday Weekend
Skies will be mostly sunny to kick off the holiday weekend. After a cold start to the day, we will enjoy significant moderation in temperatures after our cold Black Friday. Sunday features much the same weather, albeit with some additional cloud cover. A reinforcing shot of cold air arrives for Monday, then a noteworthy moderating temperature trend takes hold from there.
2022 Blue Ridge Calendars
The 2022 Blue Ridge Calendar, featuring stunning photography from across the Southern Appalachians, is available at our web store and many retailers across the region. See RaysMarketplace.Com for details and to purchase calendars. Like last year, a portion of every sale goes to the Blue Ridge Conservancy.

Moderating Canadian high pressure will be the weather theme for the weekend. After a cold, blustery Black Friday, the weather today will be more tranquil with lighter winds. Expect a nice bounce in temperatures after a cold daybreak.
A cold front is scheduled to cross the Southern Appalachians with little fanfare Sunday night. Ahead of the front, there will be more clouds around on Sunday, but no precipitation. Temperatures will be similar to Saturday.
Behind the front, we have another day of colder weather set to start the workweek. After Monday, temperatures moderate nicely into mid-and-late week. Dry weather is set to continue. And for those of you that are wondering, dry weather along and especially east of the Appalachian spine is a characteristic of a winter La Niña.
