Forecast Discussion

Travel Day (Wednesday) and Thanksgiving Day will be governed by cool high pressure, keeping the weather fair and temperatures a bit below normal.

A storm system that will bring some welcome rain to parts of fire-stricken California will ignite low-pressure along the Gulf Coast on Friday and then head up the Eastern Seaboard on Saturday.

A cold rain will overspread the Carolinas Friday night, lasting into Saturday before ending. After a brief break on Sunday, a cold front will bring more rain to western North Carolina Sunday night. The following week looks rather cold.
