Increasing Clouds; Rain Thursday

Clouds thicken overnight thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Beta. Rainfall begins Thursday, especially from Thursday afternoon into at least the first part of Friday. Once we get this slug of rain through here, we’re setting up for a rather nice weekend with a surge of warmth and just isolated showers around the area.

Forecast Discussion

The old remnants of Tropical Storm Beta will link-up with an upper level trough to thicken clouds overnight and into Thursday, and rain won’t be far behind. A period of steadier rainfall is expected late Thursday into at least Friday morning. High temperatures will be held down by clouds/rainfall.

Once we get the Beta remnants out of the way, the weekend looks pretty good. Skies will be partly sunny both Saturday and Sunday with an isolated pop-up shower possible during the afternoons. Temperatures will be back above-normal. A nondescript cold front will come through Sunday night, leading to a pleasant Monday.

Following that, a much stronger cold front is scheduled to arrive later Tuesday with more showers. Following this front, a much cooler autumnal air mass will arrive for the remainder of the workweek.
